I received notice from National Commission for Women summoning me and my father to Delhi

On the evening of May 27, 2024, my father, Ashish Jain, returned to the house where I was being held against my will. He asked me if I would go to Delhi with them. Earlier that day, my mother had posed the same question but provided no explanation. Not knowing the reason, I firmly said “no” to both.

My father then vaguely mentioned that “some department” was calling me. Suspicious, I asked to speak directly with them. He claimed he didn’t have a contact number and instead mentioned receiving some papers via mail. I pressed him to show me these documents, but he was evasive, refusing to share them. After much insistence, he reluctantly showed me a notice from the National Commission for Women, New Delhi dated May 20, 2024, stating that both he and I were summoned for a hearing at 3 PM. The document included a line, “copy to Surbhi Jain,” but my father had not provided it to me initially. Even when he showed it, he quickly snatched the papers back, preventing me from examining them closely.

Despite my hesitation, I agreed to go to Delhi. When I asked about the departure time, he said 9 AM. He referred to the documents as being from “Rashtriya Aayog,” He probably meant “Mahila Rashtriya Aayog” but he was not teling me anything clearly. The secrecy and reluctance to share the notice only deepened my distrust, given the ongoing abuse and captivity I’ve endured under his control.
